Here is how the work shapes up. On the ground, we package writer-director combinations across the Cinema Novo lineage (Glauber Rocha through Salles, Mendonça Filho, Aïnouz, Babenco, Bruno Barreto, Cao Hamburger, Andrucha Waddington), commission script development, secure ANCINE's Lei do Audiovisual federal rebates plus Spcine and RioFilme state-level funding, structure Brazil-Portugal lingua-Portuguesa co-productions, The country-Argentina Mercosul co-productions, and US co-productions, and manage festival strategy across Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, Sundance, San Sebastián, Festival do Rio, Mostra São Paulo, Festival de Brasília, and Festival de Gramado (Kikito awards).

Here is the short of it. On the production floor our creative producers run development greenlights, funding waterfalls, talent attachments, and creative-vs-budget reconciliation. We staff producer credits (executive producer, co-producer, line producer, associate producer, post producer) through SindCine-registered pros operating under CLT labour law with FGTS 8% termination fund, INSS workers comp, 13º salário, and 30-day paid vacation budgeted into each schedule. We negotiate against ICMS 17-20% state VAT, BRL ~5:1 USD currency advantage, federal Lei do Audiovisual rebates, and state-level commissions (Spcine São Paulo, RioFilme, Pernambuco, Bahia, Ceará, Minas Gerais film commissions).

Here is how it adds up. On the ground, Festival-side, our producers have shepherded Cannes Golden Bear (Padilha's Elite Squad, Salles's Central Station), Cannes Jury Prize (Bacurau), Cannes Un Certain Regard (Aïnouz's Eurídice Gusmão), Sundance Special Jury Prize (Muylaert's The Second Mother), and many Oscar nominations including Petra Costa's The Edge of Democracy 2019 documentary for Netflix.
