SCENE 01 / GRIP EQUIPMENT
Grip Equipment
Professional grip equipment for your Brazilian production.
Here is how this works in practice. Grip kit has the mechanical hardware used to support, position, and control cameras and lighting on set. C-stands, flags, nets, silks, clamps, and rigging hardware give grip teams the tools to shape light and enable precise camera placement in any environment.
Here is the short of it. We source full grip kit packages from local suppliers, scaled to your production's size and complexity. Our team makes sure all rigging, mounting, and light-control hardware is delivered in working condition, giving your grip department the tools to execute each setup efficiently.

Cinerent and Cor & Som grip floors, Globo PROJAC heritage, and tropical-humidity protocols
Grip stock in Brazil moves out of two main rental floors. Cinerent Brasil has branches in Rio and São Paulo. Cor and Som is the other big house. Both carry deep stocks of Matthews C-stands, Mathellini and Junior offsets, combo and Hi-Hi stands, apple boxes, and full sandbag walls. The kit scales up for feature loadouts.
Here is the breakdown. We layer Globo Estúdios PROJAC's in-house pool onto bigger TV and commercial jobs. PROJAC is the Jacarepaguá tricky built around 24/7 telenovela work. One-hour day-shoot turnarounds drilled many generations of Brazilian grips there. We pull Casablanca Studios São Paulo and O2 Filmes for SP-side cart kits. O2 Filmes is Fernando Meirelles' production house.
Here is how this works in practice. For 12x12, 20x20, and large overhead frames in butterfly silks, griffolyn, ultrabounce, and grid cloth, we top up with cross-border orders. We bring in Matthews, Mole-Richardson, American Grip, and Sun-Belt through Sigma Cine LA. A 12-hour direct GRU to LA flight makes this the standard top-tier option when feature loadouts run past local stock.
Brazilian weather sets the prep protocol. Tropical humidity sits at 80 to 95% year-round in Rio, Salvador, Recife, and the Amazon. Every C-stand knuckle, Cardellini, and Matthellini gets a rust check and a fresh oil pass before it leaves the shop. Salt-water shoots in Búzios and along the Rio coastline get an extra anti-rust treatment.
Sambódromo Carnival rigs ride on full speed-rail scaffolds with reinforced bases for crowd loads. The Sambódromo is Niemeyer's 1984 venue. Cristo Redentor sequences run under IPHAN heritage permits. Those permits ban drilling and need non-marking pads.
We have backed the grip side of Brazilian features that built the country's today's tech reputation. That has City of God's favela handheld work. It has Tropa de Elite's run-and-gun. It also has Bacurau's anamorphic Northeast scenes and I'm Still Here's period Rio. The same crews and stock stay open to global shoots that land in Brazil today.
