Power Distribution Systems
Safe, reliable on-set power for film and TV production in Brazil.
Here is how this works in practice. Power distribution systems safely route electrical today's from power packs or mains sources to lighting, camera, and production gear across a set. Pro distro boxes, cable runs, and breaker panels make sure balanced loads, proper grounding, and safe power delivery to each department.
Here is the short of it. We give power distribution systems configured for your production's electrical needs and set layout. Our team sets up with your gaffer and best boy to make sure the right capacity, cable lengths, and safety gear are in place for each location on your schedule.

127V/220V dual-grid distro, Type N plugs, Stemac generators, ANEEL-regulated tie-ins via Light SA and Eletropaulo
Here is how this works in practice. Brazilian power distribution handles one of the world's most fragmented national grids: São Paulo and Rio run 127V/60Hz, the Northeast (Recife, Salvador) and Manaus run 220V/60Hz, Brasília and the South sit on 220V/60Hz, and ANEEL — the federal electricity regulator — sets up utility tie-ins through Light SA in Rio, Eletropaulo / Enel in São Paulo, and Equatorial Energia in the Northeast.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. On the ground, Plug standard is Type N (NBR 14136), distinct from the rest of the world and required since 2010, though older Type A, C, I, and B sockets stay common — we provision the full adapter family. Distro packages at Cinerent Brasil and Cor & Som stack step-up/step-down transformers and Hz-stable inverters for cross-region shoots, lunchboxes, quads, banded camlock and cam-loc 5-wire feeders, and 13.8 kV industrial tie-in panels at major studio sites including Globo Estúdios PROJAC in Jacarepaguá, Casablanca Studios São Paulo, O2 Filmes, and Estúdios Rio.
Here is the short of it. Power packs come primarily from Stemac (the largest national gen-set manufacturer), Cummins Brasil, and Caterpillar Brasil. With super-silent diesel sets in 60, 100, 150, and 250 kVA paired with PowerGems flicker-free ballasts for HMI loads. Tropical 35-40°C summer heat in lowland Rio, São Paulo, and the Amazon demands oversized cooling on each set and shaded fuel storage. ANEEL safety codes and CLT labor rules dictate licensed Brazilian electrician oversight and PAT-equivalent testing on each cart.
Here is how the picture comes together. On the ground, Solar-and-battery hybrid packages handle remote Amazon and Pantanal shoots out of Manaus where diesel resupply windows stretch days. Anton Bauer Cine VCLX and Hawkwoods block batteries cover sound-sensitive scenes. Brazilian gaffers and best boys, trained through Globo PROJAC's steady telenovela infrastructure and the today's feature pipeline (Bacurau, Two Popes, I'm Still Here, Narcos), bring the dual-grid expertise global shoots need to handle the country safely.
FAQ
Power Distribution Expertise
What generator sizes do you provide?

How do you calculate power requirements?
We perform detailed load calculations based on your lighting package, camera and DIT needs, video village, and all other electrical needs. We factor in startup loads and give appropriate headroom for safe, reliable operation.
Can you provide power at historic locations?
Here is the breakdown. Yes, we specialize in powering shoots at Brazil's historic locations including historic estates, churches, and covered sites. We set up with venue needs, give appropriate cabling without damage, and make sure compliance with preservation guidelines.
Do you handle tie-ins to venue power?
We set up tie-ins to venue electrical systems where appropriate, working with licensed Brazilian electricians and venue tech staff. We check ready power, arrange short-term connections, and make sure safe disconnection after your shoot.
What about power for remote locations?
For remote exteriors without mains power, we give complete power packs solutions including fuel management, noise mitigation, and multi-day operation. We plan logistics to make sure uninterrupted power across your shoot.
How do you ensure electrical safety on set?
